Pre-Production: Practise Editing

Within these two clips I used footage from the internet to create a story line influenced by the lyrics to both of these songs. Within my previous post following the filming I did for the song 'River' by Leon Bridges, I wanted to work on, and experiment with editing. Within my work I believe it is crucial for the footage to work alongside the song in harmony and that is why a lot of the footage found in music videos change with the beat of the music or a crescendo or diminuendo in the pitch and tone of the music. I applied these ideas to these music videos I created by focusing on the editing father than filming my own footage.

The top clip was influenced by current affairs in the media and both living and past influences that left a huge public impression due to the choices they made and/ or what message they expressed through their own work. I played with colour, changing the saturation of clips to a create stronger effect.
The bottom clips follows the journey of a couple falling in love and a filmed choreography done to the music I edited to. I changed the footage of the dancer to black and white so that the light and dark contrast became more visible and to show a separation between the two story lines. I cut up the footage filmed by 'Toe to Toe' and distorted the time and arrangement of the clips. I did this by reversing clips and changing the speed of the clips.
